Welcome to the White Mountains of N.H.

April 3, 2010

Life in the White mountains moves at slow pace, we have plenty of outside influence with vacationers, tourists and sports enthusiests…these are our weekend warriors. But between the ski season and when school lets out for the summer the locals (in the service business) get to take stock of the beautiful surroundings. After Loon Mountain ski resort closes April 12th, and before Mid-June (schools out for the summer) I will have a chance to hike, kayak, bike, play golf and yes work in my yard.

Summer hike in Franconia Notch state Park

It is a right of spring, and a joy of the season that allows us time to recharge the batteries, and ready for the next season about to come.

Before the black flies find their mark, it is time for outdoor activities and as the days grow long the recreational choices are wide spread.

Golfing at the Jack O'Lantern resort, on the Pemi River

Then as the days grow shorter and the sun sets earlier, foliage will return like clock work. Hikes in the woods, or along a cool brook make the days that much more enjoyable.

Glover Brook.

As the days grow shorter still and you feel the chill from the Canadian express. We give ourselves back to winter…and the snow sports that come back to the White Mountains.
