Kancamagus Scenic NH highway -rugged good looks

February 23, 2011

New Hampshire’s Rugged good Looks. I can see the forest for the trees, I took my bag lunch for a short ride today to remind me what is outside of my office walls. The Kancamagus National Scenic highway designation is well deserved. Enjoy the views of my picnic lunch today.

Northeast highest peak

I didn’t mind a cold lunch with this great view.

It was hard to get this shot facing due south into the sun, but the avalanche area across the valley was worth the photo risk.

A western shot reminds me that this is miles of wilderness. In fact the route through the mountains is devoid of any man-made structures for 35 miles…gas up before you head over the Kancamangus Pass (one of the highest elevation drives open all year round). My outside blog –

The Northern View from today’s Lunch spot absolutely glowed with it’s blue bird sky’s…and cold stone outcropping. Follow my Local events post in Lincoln NH –

White mountain NH – Loon mt ski season

February 20, 2011

What a season we are having the the White mountains of New Hampshire. Records are being broken for snow fall and ski tickets sold. The February School vacation week is upon us all the trails are open and the snowmobiles are gassed up. This should shape up to be one of the best winter seasons ever, and the spring skiing will be fabulous.
