Kancamagus Scenic NH highway -rugged good looks

February 23, 2011

New Hampshire’s Rugged good Looks. I can see the forest for the trees, I took my bag lunch for a short ride today to remind me what is outside of my office walls. The Kancamagus National Scenic highway designation is well deserved. Enjoy the views of my picnic lunch today.

Northeast highest peak

I didn’t mind a cold lunch with this great view.

It was hard to get this shot facing due south into the sun, but the avalanche area across the valley was worth the photo risk.

A western shot reminds me that this is miles of wilderness. In fact the route through the mountains is devoid of any man-made structures for 35 miles…gas up before you head over the Kancamangus Pass (one of the highest elevation drives open all year round). The Northern View from today’s Lunch spot absolutely glowed with it’s blue bird sky’s…and cold stone outcropping. Follow my Local events post in Lincoln NH – www.localism.com/nh/lincoln

Eastern View looking towards North Conway New Hampshire…one of the highest points to have a “Peak”.
